Barclays’ SME Growth Factors Index analysed the top 20 cities in the country based on population size, using 12 key growth factors to determine which is the most attractive for entrepreneurs launching a small or medium sized enterprise.
Bradford was ranked first overall and came top for a number of growth factors including road infrastructure, job vacancies, commercial rent costs and business rate relief.

In fact, entrepreneurs are already showing their confidence in Bradford says Bradford Chamber of Commerce president Nick Garthwaite. Mr Garthwaite recently confirmed that the city is a thriving area for fledgling firms and pointed to the excellent services offered to start-ups by the Chamber of Commerce.
In addition to providing professional expertise to help new businesses take their first steps, Bradford Chamber of Commerce offers a loan of up to £25,000 to help get start-ups off to a flying start.
